No need to blame them, it\\’s not their fault and it\\’s written for them. But at least we should encourage children to take an interest in their surroundings, in the nature around them or in the towns and villages they pass through. I used to take a bus through a part of our country and change trains. I had a family following me. The classic kind, parents and two kids. The father was singing the praises of the beauty of our homeland, which intrigued me, and I kind of admired him. So the train came and we got on. It was only by sheer coincidence that they wanted to sit next to me in a four-seater. And then, to my horror, they all pulled out their cell phones and started staring at them. They kept it up all the way and maybe even after I got off. To be honest, I didn\\’t really understand it. Obviously they were going on a trip or somewhere on vacation according to their luggage and instead of looking around they were playing games or who knows what they had on their cell phones. I guess it suited the parents because they had peace of mind and it suited the kids as well. What can I say. The second story is related to a hiking trip in the Jesen\u00edky Mountains, where we went through a strictly protected landscape area. We saw a lady walking with a dog and shouted at us to get rid of the dog. We thought she was joking, but a little further on at the cottage they asked us why we didn\\’t have the dog tied up and believe me we had trouble explaining to them that it wasn\\’t our dog. She had in fact made the lady disappear, so he joined us. He left us only at the crossroads to Rejv\u00edz. But that wasn\\’t the main thing. When we passed the lakes, a group of tramps appeared behind us. I assumed they were already extinct, so I was about to give a hearty greeting. But behind them came dogs the size of calves. And they ran merrily wherever they pleased, including into the small lakes, although their owners must have known they were in a protected area. Some people deserve a few slaps.
